I am writing to express my concerns about young adult voter participation in the upcoming presidential election.
As a student at East Tennessee State University, I feel that I am just a very small part in the election of 2004. I, like others, feel that my vote will not count.
As I progress forward in my American History class, I am finding many past elections in which my single vote along with others cast by young voters could have made a difference. Just as in the 2000 election, this election of 2004 could be very close and your vote will count.
I am writing this to encourage everyone to vote. Whether you are young or old or Democrat or Republican, as an American citizen it is our duty to provide our input into American government.
If you complain about the government and have not voted, then you have no right to complain.
