The ETSU women’s basketball team won 48-46 against the Samford Bulldogs Saturday.

ETSU moves to 6-0 in the Southern Conference, leaving Samford at 4-2 in the Southern Conference.

By halftime, the Bulldogs had taken the lead, leaving the Bucs to work harder to take back the lead.

The Bucs used the next nine minutes to pull even at 40 with a 19-6 run. The two teams took turns leading over the next six minutes of game time.

Senior forward Destiny Mitchell tied the game at 42 with 3:49 remaining.

Freshman point guard Tianna Tarter brought the Bucs into the lead at 44-42, with 2:06 to go.

The Lady Bucs then held on for the 48-46 win.

The Bucs will continue SoCon play at home on Monday against Chattanooga at 11 a.m. in Brooks Gym.
