ETSU’s Opera workshop will present two performances of “The Magic Flute” on Feb. 12 and 13 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the D.P. Culp Center Auditorium.

This production will be directed by Karen Smith and conducted by Alan Stevens.

“The Magic Flute” is a tale of magic and good versus evil.

In this opera written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the late 1700’s, a prince sets out on a journey to free the princess, his love, from her evil captors, but along the way he will run into several magical creatures and is thrust into a battle of good versus evil.

The leading cast includes Mason Van Horn as Tamino, Hayden Blair as Papageno, Amber Harrington as the Queen of the Night; Morgan Tingle as Pamina, Maison Barnett as Sarastro and Brenna Williams as Papagena.

Also appearing in this large production are performers Benjamin Adamo, Erin Augustine, Whitney Baxter, Maria Coletti, Emily Ducko, Derrick Epps, Alexis Ferguson, Lucy George, Isaiah Green, Matthew Hartgrove, Rebekah Hartman, Martha Hawk, Tyler Kleiboer, Julia Phillips, Ally Powell, Katie Powell, Catherine Raible, Shawn Salley, Amanda Serber, Emily Skelton, Robby Taylor and Rachel Wagner.

These performances are $10 for the general public and $5 for students with their IDs. This magic tale will be sure to bring the music-lover out in everyone with a wonderful performance based around classical music.
