ETSU senior T.J. Cromer is from Albany, Georgia and fell in love with the game of basketball from the moment he started playing.

“I fell in love with the game as soon as I got a ball in my hand,” Cromer said.

The son of Roy Cromer and Shannon Johnson, Cromer attended high school at Westover High School where he came out as a two-star recruit.

“If I wasn’t playing basketball I think I would be playing football,” Cromer said.

After high school, he signed to play basketball at Columbia State Community College where he showed that recruiting stars did not define him as a player. During his first couple of seasons at Columbia State Community college, he averaged 19.9 points per game and shot an incredible 46 percentage from the 3-point range.

He helped lead Columbia State Community College to a 26-7  record.

“My most favorite memory playing basketball would have to be winning the Juco Conference Championship at Columbia State,” Cromer said.

Last year in his first-year coaching, ETSU basketball coach Steve Forbes brought in a number of quality transfers, one being T.J. Cromer.

In his junior campaign, Cromer was ETSU’s starting shooting guard averaging 14.9 points per game.

Last season he showed he was one of the top SoCon sharpshooters and scorers. Cromer was named on the All-SoCon team in 2016 as well as SoCon All-tournament team where he helped guide the Bucs to the SoCon championship where he scored 13 points.

Now in his senior season, Cromer has improved his game and is willing to be more than just a jump shooter. Under his leadership and commitment of being a team player, the Bucs are 15-5 on the season.

Cromer is averaging 18 points per game on the season while knocking down 39 percent of his 3-pointers.

He is not worried about personal accolades. His main focus is being a great leader and winning the conference championship.
