Two separate sex-related crimes were reported on campus this week.
The ETSU Public Safety Department said a non-student female minor reported she was the victim of a statutory rape that occurred on Aug. 28 in an on-campus residence hall room. The alleged perpetrator was a male student acquaintance. An arrest was made in the incident.
In a separate, unrelated, incident, Public Safety received a report of forcible fondling/sexual assault that occurred at approximately 3 p.m. on Aug. 28 in a vehicle in a residence hall parking lot area.
A female student reported that the male student was an acquaintance.
Public Safety continues to investigate both incidents.
In the event of an attack, campus police say to get to a safe place, contact law enforcement immediately and preserve any evidence. Blue emergency phones, located throughout campus, provide a direct line to police.
