Attention “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” fans: Ice-T is coming to ETSU next weekend.

Actor and rapper Tracy Lauren Marrow, famously known as Ice-T, will be speaking at the ETSU Minidome on Sept. 15.

Ice-T will be the keynote speaker at the third-annual “Sigma Stops Now” presented by Frontier Health.

According to their website, Frontier Health is the region’s leading provider of behavioral health services, offering treatment for mental health, co-occurring, substance abuse problems, recovery and vocational rehabilitation, and developmental and intellectual disabilities services.

The Stigma Stops Now event is held to bring awareness to mental health and treatments. Former speakers at this event include actress Ashley Judd, the speaker of the first event in 2016, and four-time Olympic medalist Shawn Johnson last year.

“The focus this year is on grief and loss and how to deal with that,” Terri Kidd, Frontier Health CEO, told WCYB-TV.

Ice-T knows grief and loss well, as he lost both his parents at a young age. The “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” actor will be discussing his path to healing.

According to a WCBY-TV article, also reporting on the star’s role in the annual event, prior to his fame, he was a gang member who emerged from the streets of South Central to become a major player in the rap game in the 1980’s, before launching into acting.

ETSU students are allowed one free ticket, and up to four guest tickets, for $20 each. These tickets can be picked up in the ETSU Center for Physical Activity building on the second floor in the Student Organization Resource Center (SORC). Students wishing to get the free ticket must have their student ID with them.

Public tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.com. Prices on the site range from $30 to $150 for VIP access. In addition to VIP access, which is the only way to have a photo taken with the star, wheel chair accessible tickets for $20 are also available.

The doors for the event will be open at 6 p.m., and the talk will start at 7 p.m.
