The Lady Mocs again the regular season champs and No. 1 seed, will attempt to avoid an upset like last year’s loss to UNC-Greensboro in the semifinals. In fact, about the only place the Lady Mocs run into any trouble is Greenville, S.C., where they suffered their last loss at the hands of Furman, 76-71 at Timmons Arena Feb. 17.
To win out this time, the best scoring offense in the conference (76.6 ppg) will count on the conference’s fifth leading scorer, Damita Bullock (14.3 ppg) and an array of supporting players like Jennifer Wilson (10.4 ppg), Miranda Warfield (9.7 ppg) Nneka Irons (9.3 ppg) and Tishay Lewis 6.0 rpg).
Though they drew the top seed on a tiebreaker with Georgia Southern, and were only a game better in the SoCon than UNC-G, their scoring margin of +13.6 is nearly four points better than any other league team. This measure, powered by their high-octane offense, demonstrates the dominance that allowed them to open their conference season 10-0.
