Final exams are around the corner and the Residence Hall Association will be holding its traditional pancake breakfast Dec. 11 in the Culp Center Main Meal Dining Room.
The Pancake Breakfast has become a tradition for finals week each semester, said Renee Couch, RHA assistant director.
“I’d say it’s been going on for the last 15 years,” she said. “It’s become a well established tradition here.”
The breakfast can be used as a study break for students who need a break from the grind of finals week or for students to get together to study for upcoming final exams.
The Student Affairs staff, as well as the residence hall building coordinators and residence hall directors and advisors, cook and serve the food.
The RHA will also provide students who attend the breakfast with “stress busters” which are sheets of bubble wrap.
“This is done for the students,” Couch said. “I think they enjoy it and we always have a good turnout.”
According to Couch, not even bad weather deters students from participating in the breakfast.
“One spring we had a lot of rain, our turnout was lower but there were still a lot of people there,” she said.
“Even when it has snowed in the past, I’ve found students still find a way to be there.”
The breakfast will be held Monday Dec. 11 from 10 p.m. to midnight.
