Kathleen Curtis Wilson has been selected as the Mary Mildred Sullivan Fellow by the Center for Appalachian Studies and Services.
She will represent ETSU at the official launching of the Institute for Ulster-Scots Studies at the University of Ulster at Jordanstown, County Antrim, Ireland.
The program is designed to promote the study, conservation, development and use of Ultser-Scots as a living language. The program also hopes to develop a greater understanding of the culture and history of the Ulster-Scots.
Wilson will leave in February.
Upon her return, she will help prepare ETSU for a visit from the chair of the agency sponsoring the Institute.
