Why do people feel the need to be condescending?
See, I try not to be condescending. I like to describe my humor as biting sarcasm/satirical wit. I hear some people have been talking about my articles, and many of you do not particularly like them. Some of your views have been related to me personally, and they boil down to this: Joshua Blades is an ignorant idiot/bad writer who makes fun of people.
In my own defense, I would like to say this . heebee-deebee-abbalee-doo.
Of course, that will probably offend someone else, because they made up a language, and in this language I just said, “I hate you and think you smell.”
Unless I write about a two-headed dog that can say three words, people are always going to remain ticked at me.
The problem stems from the fact that, unfortunately, there are too many stupid people in the world today. For those of you who would like facts, the National Adult Literacy Survey found that 22 percent of adults (as in 44 million people), in the United States, read at or below a fifth-grade level.
This means that one in five of you cannot grasp what I am saying at this very moment.
This evidence would also indicate that one in five of you who choose to compose a letter to the editor are quite unsuccessful.
The Merriam-Webster Dic-tionary defines a conservative as “tending or disposed to maintain existing views.” Therefore, let me be so bold as to say that conservative Americans have less of a chance to pull themselves from a situation like this, because they are not as willing to change.
No, I am not being biased against one political party, I am simply saying “conservative”, not conservative Re-publican.
According to the Digest of Education Statistics, from 1987-1997, the enrollment of women in colleges rose 10 percent more than men. In this light, it appears women are beginning to care more about their education than men.
So, at this point, we have reasoned that one in five people would not be capable of writing an intelligent letter to the editor. We have read Webster’s definition of a conservative, and decided that a conservative would be less likely to change his/her illiterate ways. And we also now understand that men seem to care less about their education than women.
By combining all these reasons, we learn that a conservative man has a very small chance of writing a clear and logical letter to the editor.
