McDuffie, who has 977 points in his collegiate career, was a starter for the Bucs the past two seasons and has adjusted well in his senior year to being the Bucs’ sixth man.
“It’s not really a big adjustment,” he said. “We have a better record with me coming off the bench, that’s all that matters.”
McDuffie has provided the Bucs with a complete game off the bench averaging 8.6 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.2 assists per game, along with 1.38 steals per game which has him ranked 13th in the conference.
“I just try and go out and play hard,” McDuffie said. “If they need me to play defense, I’ll play defense, if they need me to come in and score, just whatever I can do for the team.”
“Coming off the bench you get to see the flow of the game and make adjustments,” he said.
Each player has had their role that has contributed to the Buccaneers’ success.
Now with the tournament action on the horizon the senior players are very optimistic about what their team can do when they play to their potential.
“We can make it all the way to the NCAA Tournament,” Johnson said.
“If we come out and play hard every night, we do good in the tournament,” McDuffie said. “If we focus we can do something special.”
The Buccaneer Seniors will get their chance to put the final marks on their collegiate careers when the Southern Conference Tournament begins today in Greenville, S.C.
