Another slumping second-place team, the Mocs lost five of their last seven conference games. Defense, particularly on the interior, has been their downfall. No SoCon squad allowed a higher field goal percentage against them, and no one had fewer blocked shots.
Don’t blame scoring leaders Oliver Morton (12.2 ppg) and Toot Young (11.8), or big man Dusty Pullian, who leads the league in field-goal percentage, making nearly 70 percent of his attempts (68.8). SoCon teams should watch out from behind the arc – the Mocs lead the league in three-point percentage.
If form holds, they will be the Bucs’ semifinal opponent.
