Outstanding students at ETSU will be honored during the annual Academic Excellence Convocation on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Culp Auditorium.
The top 35 students will receive faculty awards and will be honored alongside graduating seniors who have achieved honors for their GPA standings.
The featured speaker for the event is Dr. Niall Shanks, professor of philosophy and humanities as well as adjunct professor of physics and astronomy at ETSU. Shanks is able to restore antique scientific equipment and recreate classic experiments from scientific history.
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Bert C. Bach will preside at the ceremony. University college deans will assist.
