The Office of Career Placement and Internship and the ETSU Office of Information Technology are sponsoring a free workshop on Tuesday, in Meeting Room 6 in the Culp Center, to teach ETSU students and alumni the most efficient ways to create and use scannable resumes.
The workshop, Scannable Resume/Internet Help for Business/Technical Majors, is the third in an ongoing series. It is designed to inform attendees about the basics of online resumes and how to utilize major internet services.
Calvin Purvis, assistant director of the Office of Career Placement and Internship, said, “This is open to any ETSU student or alumnus who wants to learn how to be effective with job searching using the Internet.”
The workshop will cover topics such as correct style, type and format of scannable resumes, current market issues and web sites and passwords to post online resumes with major services.
“A lot of students don’t realize what (the Office of Career Placement and Internship) has available for them. We have growing relationships with several establishments that give us a chance to offer more internship opportunities for ETSU students. Think of us as a clearing house for job opportunities.”
Student groups are encouraged to attend and group leaders should inform Purvis or someone in the office beforehand.
