The women’s soccer team (1-5-1) lost to the UNC-Asheville Bulldogs by a score of 4-2 after four straight goals were scored by the Bulldogs Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Bucs led 1-0 early when Kristin Redfern scored her fourth goal of the season at the 8:46 mark on a shot from 15 yards to give them a quick 1-0 lead.
Two goals, however, were scored by UNC-Asheville defender Ellen Sims to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead at the half.
Sims scored her first goal of the year at the 27:36 mark off a pass from Kelsey Dawson.
She then scored at the 35:23 mark on a penalty kick to give the Bulldogs the 2-1 advantage.
Dawson scored her third goal of the year to put UNC-Asheville in front 3-1 at 47:57.
Then freshman Stephanie Feltis finished the scoring for the Bulldogs at 61:20 for a 4-1 lead for UNC-Asheville.
Junior Elizabeth Smith scored the Lady Bucs’ final goal of the game at the 70:30 mark.
It was Smith’s third goal of the season.
ETSU will continue its road trip on Friday at UNC Greensboro.
