The University of North Carolina Greensboro defeated the ETSU soccer team 8-1 on Friday night at the UNCG Soccer Stadium.
UNCG’s freshman duo of Rakel Logadottir and Jaime Ableman each recorded a hat trick for the Spartans.
Logadottir opened the scoring in the ninth minute with her third goal of the season. Ableman put the Spartans up 3-0 with a pair of goals in the 23rd and 25th minute.
The Spartans kept applying pressure on ETSU throughout the second half. Ableman tallied her sixth goal of the season at 53:01, while Logadottir added a pair of goals in the 62nd and 78th minute, respectively.
Kate Dylag and Megan Bynum each added goals for UNCG.
The Bucs’ lone goal came from senior Kristin Redfern at the 51st minute, which was her fifth goal of the season. Redfern took three of the team’s four shots on goal for the night.
ETSU will next play at Belmont on Oct. 4 at 5 p.m.
