There will be no flu vaccine available for the Oct. 11 flu and meningitis immunization clinic.
The clinic, sponsored by Student Health Services and VaccessHealth, will still offer the meningococcal meningitis vaccine.
“Supplies are so limited, that the company’s (VaccessHealth) current stock of flu vaccine is being diverted to high-risk clients such as nursing homes, hospitals, and ICU’s,” said Amy Kaplan, director of Student Health Services.
Kaplan expressed her disappoint, but still encourages students to take advantage of the meningitis immunization.
If flu vaccine becomes available, Student Health Services will attempt to reschedule in November.
High-risk individuals can obtain a list of local health departments that have flu vaccine available.
The meningitis vaccinations will cost $85 and will be given from noon-6 p.m. in the ballroom on the third floor of the Culp Center.
