ETSU’s Campus Recreation and Homecoming committee are once again sponsoring a night of Homecoming Relays Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Memorial Center or Mini-Dome.
Teams of at least seven students or faculty can participate in fun and silly games such as potato sack races, tug-of-war and rubber chicken relays.
“Homecoming Relays is the Homecoming event we’re most recognized for,” said Jon Walker, director of Campus Recreation. “We’re really happy we can offer people a chance to come out and just be ridiculous for a night.”
Walker said that, in the past, a mixed group of people has participated.
Some take the competition quite seriously while others just want to have fun representing their student organization.
Teams must register for the Homecoming Relays between 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Dome, and a captains’ meeting will be held a 6 p.m.
“Everyone always has a good time,” Walker said.
“Folks come and yell and scream, and they usually go home hoarse. It’s just a fun night for everybody.
