The ETSU women’s soccer team was honored recently by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and recognized as a “College Team Academic Award Winner.” They are one of only 63 Division I institutions whose soccer program received this award. The team carried a 3.1 GPA for the year.
“I think this is a great accomplishment for our team. We have tried to make academics a focus in our program and it is nice to see the young ladies’ hard work pay off,” said head coach Heather Henson.
The award is based on the academic performance of a team during the previous academic year. The teams are compiled and nominated by NSCAA coaches from around the country.
