The ETSU men’s golf team finished seventh after shooting a final-round 300 on Tuesday in the Puerto Rico Classic from the Rio Del Mar Country Club River Course in San Juan, Puerto Rico.The tournament was won by Georgia Tech (275-275-279=829), who won the tournament by 25 strokes over Clemson.

The Bucs finished with a three-day total of 883 (295-288-300), 54 strokes back of the Yellow Jackets.

Seniors James Johnson (74-70-77=221 and Adam Riddering (72-70-79=221) and freshman Marco Trejos (74-75-72=221) were the best Buccaneer finishers, tying for 28th at 5-over-par. Freshman Cennydd Mills was the next Buc finisher, tying for 40th (78-73-74=224) after shooting his second consecutive 73 in the final round of play.

Fellow freshman Jeremy Hobson rounded out ETSU’s day, finishing in 70th (75-83-78=236) after firing a 78 on the final day of play.

The Bucs return to action on March 11-12 as they travel to Tallahassee, Fla. to compete in the Seminole Classic, hosted by Florida State University.
