The ETSU men’s golfers finished 12th following Sunday’s final round of The Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of North Carolina, from Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Bucs shot a 293 in Sunday’s round, finishing with a three-round total of 874 (290-291-293). Wake Forest won the event by one stroke over North Carolina State after firing a 282 in the final round of play.

Junior James Johnson led the Bucs in the tournament, finishing in a tie for 20th (71-72-72=215) at 1-under par. James had a very consistent three rounds, firing second and third-round even-par 72’s after shooting a 1-under-par 71 in Saturday morning’s first round.

Freshman Marco Trejos was the next Buccaneer finisher, ending the tournament in a tie for 38th at 4-over-par (72-73=144). Junior Adam Riddering finished just two strokes behind Trejos, tying for 45th at 6-over-par (72-74-76=222).

Freshman Cennydd Mills had his best round of the tournament on Sunday, shooting a 72 in his final round of play to finish in a tie for 50th at 7-over-par (75-76-72=223). Fellow freshman Jeremy Hobson rounded out the tournament for the Bucs, finishing in a tie for 56th at 10-over-par (80-72-74=226).

The Bucs return to the links on Friday for the Southern Conference Men’s Golf Championships from the Furman Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.
