The Center for Physical Activity opened to students, faculty and staff on Wednesday.
The state-of-the art facility was funded with student fees and will be administered by the department of campus recreation/division of student affairs.
Its facilities include an aquatics center, aerobic/martial arts studio, basketball courts, climbing wall, fitness center, meeting rooms and racquet/squash courts. Programming will support the university’s campus life and student learning.
Access will be granted to all current enrolled students, current full-time faculty/staff persons and retirees. The spouses and dependent of those categories may purchase a six-month or yearlong user’s pass.
Due to later than anticipated completion of the project, graduates of classes 2001 and 2002 will be able to use the CPA until August 15, 2003.
All persons are required to have a current ETSU picture ID card.
Spouses and dependents of ETSU students and faculty/staff can pay additional fees to use the center. Spouses of faculty and staff can pay $150 for six months or $240 for a year. Students’ spouses can pay $75 for six months and $120 for a year. Students who have dependents 18-21 years old can pay $75 for six months.
