Initial student interviews for admission into the cardiopulmonary science (respiratory therapy) program will begin May 9.Students have a series of two to three interviews before finalists are chosen for the program, according to Kay Benincasa, secretary with the department of health-related profession.

“The official deadline for applications to the cardiopulmonary science program has passed, but applications will be accepted until interviews begin,” she said.

Twenty-five to 30 students are selected and admitted into the program each year. There are approximately 50 applicants who apply.

Applications may be picked up at the Nave Center in Elizabethton, or the department will mail applications by request.
