The beautiful women of the newly decorated bar, Halo’s, are ready to serve some great brews for their grand opening this Friday.
Formally known as Potters Patio and Grill, Halo’s is ready to bring excitement to Johnson City with a twist.
I was lucky enough to sit down with Leah Jobe, Haize Colvin, Loni Dinwiddie and Samara Litvack to discuss the highlights these four women want to bring to the fun atmosphere of Halo’s.
“This is going to be rewarding for us to see the turn-out because of all the preparation work we have done from painting to remodeling throughout the last months,” Leah Jobe said. “But this would not have been possible without the expertise of our dear friend, Gary,” she said.
Halo’s opens this Friday, Sept. 20. The following beers will be on tap: Bud Light, Miller Light, Coors Light and Michelob Light. The girls will also be selling Highlands Gaelic Ale and the tasteful Newcastle. Highlands Oatmeal Porter will be served on the patio.
Several changes have been made to the space formerly occupied by Potters Pub. There is now a long hallway that directly connects the bar to the patio. A “boom-boom room” has been installed which is the V.I.P. hangout. Colorful couches and relaxing recliners fill the entire bar.
The main focus of the bar is live music. The bar is run completely by females with an angelic staff to see to the customer’s every need.
Responsible Curtis will be playing Friday night and Rob Russell and the Sore Losers will be playing Saturday night. The music will be live on the patio. I asked the owners why they wanted to open a bar all of a sudden and the reply was, “The corporate world is not for us, so we became our own corporation, Halo’s Inc.”
Additionally, Halo’s is doing something that no other bar in Johnson City has ever thought about – serving food from when the doors open until the early morning hours.
The entire food menu is named after the girls from Loni-Dottie Dogs to Samara Strips.if you tip her. From sandwiches and salads to angel food cake, Halo’s has it all.
Samara Litvack said, “We want to create a relaxed atmosphere for college kids to come and relax and feel comfortable.” You must be 21 or over and present valid identification to get in.
According to Leah Jobe, Halo’s is keeping an ear tuned to the desires of its customers. “We want to know what customers want to hear, eat and drink,” Jobe said.
The owners of Halo’s would also like to arrange a bluegrass music night as soon as possible. For anyone who wants to perform, please call Leah Jobe at 434-0799.
Last call will be at exactly 2:59 a.m. and the owners would like to remind you that this is a safe-haven for those who are intoxicated in the late night hours. The address is 211 E. Main Street. Hope to see everyone out at Halo’s this weekend.
