“I wrote the book to show my daughter that you do not have to be a perfect size to be beautiful,” Dana Carpenter said Tuesday night. She also gave the audience some tips on how to start changing their perspective on themselves. These helpful tips include: Ask yourself “Why am I beautiful?”

Choose a day NOT to criticize yourself.

Be around people that are comfortable with what they look like.

Wear clothes that you feel good in.

Acknowledge your right to define beauty for yourself.
