All Together Separate, a band from Riverside, Calif., performed last night in the Amphitheatre.
Dex Alexander (lead singer), Drew Shirley (lead guitarist), Ben Rayls (drummer), and Charles Rumahlewang (bass), all coming from different backgrounds, met in college and created a very unique blend of music that includes rock, funk, blues, pop and jazz.
The West Coast band is now promoting their third album, Unusual, which came out April 23.
The Christian musical group describes their new album as “. much more introspective and a little bit more revealing as we talk about struggles with temptation, times when faith is challenged, and even being at a point in life when you feel like giving up.”
Alexander, the lead singer, describes their music as “the language that our hearts speak.”
Their first album, released in August 1999, was self-titled and received many accolades as well as Dove Award nominations including Best Rock Album of the Year.
They also have a live album that was released in September 2000. Their hits include “Paradigm,” “On & On,” “Truth About God” and “Eternal Life Style.”
11:58 Ministries, the event sponsor, also provided refreshments to all who attended, creating a relaxing atmosphere and a most enjoyable night.
