The East Tennessee Regional Law School Fair will be held in the ETSU Culp Center Ballroom today from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
This event is co-sponsored by the Career Placement and Internship Service office, the political science department, Tusculum College, Mountain Empire Community College and Virginia Intermont College.
Nine law schools will set up booths so students can get materials and information on admissions procedures and financial aid. Nashville School of Law, the University of Tennessee College of Law, Wake Forest University School of Law and Sanford University Cumberland School of Law are on the list of schools attending the fair.
“All law schools from the southeastern states were asked, but these were the only ones that were able to fit it into their schedule,” said Sam McKinstry, associate professor of political science.
McKinstry said that law school representatives will be able to discuss their programs with students and answer any concerns or questions or questions that they might have.
“The fair will be extremely effective, because it allows students to meet face- to-face with law school representatives and make personal contacts that they would otherwise not have the opportunity to do,” he said.
The ETSU Pre-Law Society will also have a booth at the fair, and students interested in joining can talk with the president, Jared Ball.
“We encourage any person that needs information pertaining to law school to come by, because it will be beneficial,” said Jeanette Hill, information research technician in career placement.
The regional law school fair has been held at ETSU since 1987, and it is part of the continuing career fairs and workshops series that is offered throughout the year by the Career Placement and Internship Services office. For additional information call 439-4441.
