On Feb. 16, the yellow buses that bring memories of high school will be bringing high schoolers to ETSU.
Educational Talent Search (ETS) is looking for volunteers to serve as tour guides for the juniors that will be visiting campus.
ETS is sponsoring Junior Day, which “gives (college students) an opportunity to share with local high school students about their college experience,” said Sarah Knight, an adviser of ETS.
ETSU students who volunteer their time will receive an excuse for classes they miss.
“They need to be available from 9:30 a.m. to noon,” said Knight.
According to www.etsu.edu/outreach/information.htm, ETS is a program that “helps middle school and high school students prepare for and enter post-secondary education.”
“By having college students take part in Junior Day, it enables high school students to get a better view of college life,” Knight said.
Each tour group will consist of 10-15 students. The guides will give a tour around campus and escort the students to a career fair held in the Culp Center.
Volunteers will be given a packet that contains everything they need for the tour.
Volunteers need to sign up to be guides by Feb. 15. To sign up contact Sarah Knight at 392-8042 or knight@etsu.edu.
