Dear Editor,
Pop-Tarts are precious commodities. Don’t believe me? Ask the ARAMARK people who run food sales here at ETSU.
As I was buying coffee this morning, I saw some Pop-Tarts for sale, packaged in twos. Those babies were going for $3.99 for two! So a single pastry is valued at $2. (In the words of Li’l John:) “Whaaat?!?”
If I’m paying $4 for a couple Pop-Tarts, they better be laced with some illicit drug or else I’m just getting ripped off. I can buy a pack of 12 from Wal-Mart for $2.
I checked it out. I understand that Wal-Mart undersells almost every other shop, especially those run by ARAMARK.
This breakfast goodie in The Cave is nearly 12 times more expensive than those found in Wal-Mart. How can one justify this price? I honestly want to know.
Does ARAMARK know the price of Pop-Tarts everywhere else in the world? How can they expect people to pay these exorbitant prices, and why are you people still buying this stuff?
I try to avoid shopping on campus because the prices are just insane. A lot of off-campus businesses even offer student discounts.
I thought ARAMARK would be on our side, but apparently they’d rather rip us off.
