I would like to comment about the so-called “controversy” surrounding Facebook.
I have been on Facebook and saw the many groups complaining about the new Mini Feed. It might feel like invasion of a person’s privacy but it really isn’t.
For me, I could care less what people know about me on Facebook. First, if you do a search for a person, you probably already know them.
Next, some things are only shared with your friends, like personal information. If you don’t want a certain person [to see], there is new option where you can put a person’s name in and they cannot see your Mini Feed information.
In some cases, if you’re not friends with a person and they have graduated, you can’t see their profile. But I just get on Facebook to make new friends that are my age.
On other sites, such as Myspace, anybody can make a profile. Facebook is made mostly for college student. Yes, I have Facebook, but I have been going to ETSU since the Fall of 2002 and people don’t even know me, even with my picture pasted to this article.
Facebook is my way of letting people know who I am.
