In what is without doubt the most important two-game road swing of the season for the ETSU men’s basketball team.
The Buccaneers will first face second-place Belmont in a crucial Atlantic Sun Conference tilt Thursday night at 8 p.m. (EST) inside the Curb Event Center.
For fans unable to attend, the game will be available on live video streaming at ETSUBucs.com.
Currently holding a one game edge on the Bruins in the A-Sun standings, the first-place Bucs are hoping to avenge a 75-74 overtime loss to Belmont earlier this season.
In that game, the Bucs struggled from the foul line throughout, and later gave up a four-point lead in the extra period to allow the Bruins to escape with the vicotry.
In addition, to the importance of the game in the league standings, the Bucs will also be attempting to garner the program’s 1,100th win all-time.
The Bucs will once again rely on the efforts of senior forward Brad Nuckles (Council, Va.) and sophomore guard Courtney Pigram (Memphis). Nuckles is coming off his fourth straight double-double in the OT win over Kennesaw State last Friday, and was selected the A-Sun Player of the Week for his efforts.
Meanwhile, Pigram continues to play well, ranking fourth in the A-Sun in scoring at 16.2 points a game, while also leading the league and ranking 11th nationally in steals per contest.
ETSU holds a 5-3 all-time advantage over the Bruins, but have lost three straight.
