Jeff Foxworthy canceled his upcoming visit to ETSU after learning his television program “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” had been extended for another season.
Foxworthy was selected by ETSU students in last year’s Major Event Preference Survey.
ETSU wasted no time in seeking a replacement for Foxworthy, inviting former Saturday Night Live comedian David Spade.
“We just talked to our agent, went back to the original list students ranked in the preference survey and luckily he was available and willing to move quickly,” said Director of Student Activities Tricia Nguyen. “He only took a few days to get back to us.”
Spade will perform Thursday, April 19 at 6 p.m. in the Mini-Dome. Tickets will be available in Ticket Booth C of the Culp Center from April 5-19.
Students will receive one free ticket with a valid ETSU student ID and may purchase one additional guest ticket for $10. Students must pick up free tickets before April 13.
Between April 16-19, students may purchase up to two additional guest tickets for $10 each. Students will need to bring their student IDs and their original tickets to insure their guests will be seated in the same section.
Faculty and staff can obtain tickets beginning April 17, and may buy up to four tickets at $10 apiece. Faculty and staff must also show a valid ID.
Students can vote online now for next year’s major entertainment event, by visiting ETSU’s home page (http://www.etsu.edu) and clicking on the SGA logo.
