As the semester comes to an end, I reflect back on what I have written, learned, and hoped to have shown others. In writing a health article, my goal was to stick to the principles of health and steer clear of fads and fiction in the industry.
I hope that I have instilled some bit of knowledge in my readers, and in this final piece, I wish to restate my purpose and make it relevant to other areas of life.
Ultimately, health is a very misunderstood subject. So many people are interested yet few take the time to know and understand the truth; therefore, the perception and conception of health gets quite distorted in the mix. Because of this, I wish to list three rules that one can live by.
1. Listen, research and repeat the process:
Before you act or speak, logically listen to health tips that are given to you. Then, take the ideas and put facts to them. Like I said earlier, ignorance plagues the health industry (and the world) because of the simple fact that people talk before they know – assumptions build on assumptions and idiocy is displayed.
In the end, a little bit of knowledge can be worth more than the highest level of dedication.
2. Moderation is the ever-lasting principle:
Repeat the definition of health to yourself; health is the overall wellbeing of one’s self. In other words, it is the best you that you can be.
This, in itself, screams for a balance of body, mind, and soul. Some of the strongest and most joyful people can be unhappy internally; therefore, how do you call that beneficial or healthy? No matter what you do, balance is key.
3. Persistence leads to change:
In today’s world, everybody wants a quick fix. The truth is that health comes with a persistent intent to do better. Rapid and “cold-turkey” style approaches rarely last with optimal benefit. The trick is to develop a desire for improvement and live by that.
In conclusion, I believe these principles to be most pertinent in living a healthy life. With a little logic, one can see the benefit of intelligence, balance, and persistence.
Truly, are those not the principles of success? So, if one wishes to be healthy, “be the change you want to see” in yourself and live by these principles with passion.
Then, you will develop true insight with your life and health.
In the end, I absolutely believe that life is simple and interconnected with a little understanding and truth.
