Dear Editor;
It is obviously and painfully clear that Guy Kramer hates his president, our military and possibly this wonderful country that lets him write about those feelings.
No doubt he is using the East Tennessean as a training ground for his next leap of writing for Moveon.org or the New York Times, where such hatred for our country is celebrated.
Hey Guy, we get it. We know how you feel! My complaint is that the vast majority of the pieces in Viewpoint and other sections are written with a liberal slant.
Even the three to four quotes scattered about the paper are by and large either bent liberal or written by liberals, at best some are apolitical. I have noticed that you are in search of writers for the paper in Viewpoint, Sports etc..
Would you please take into consideration that there are indeed a lot of conservatives here at ETSU that feel that the East Tennessean is only for a certain population of the student body that thinks liberal.
How about rotating Mr. Kramer’s articles with a columnist of the conservative persuasion or possibly having a rebuttal of his comments from someone, written in the same issue, kind of a head-to-head with an opposing viewpoint in the same issue.
Maybe you could pose a question to both Mr. Kramer and his counterpart and they could both answer each other, rotating who goes first each week.
My point is, although most in journalism are liberal (88 percent of journalists polled are democrats) it would be refreshing to see conservative viewpoints in the East Tennessean as I thought that college was suppose to be about the exchange of ideas, not the exclusion of ideas!
Thank You, Robert Lewis
