Volunteer ETSU’s annual Hunger Banquet will be held Thursday, Nov. 15, at 6 p.m. in the D.P. Culp Center ballroom.
This “combination fundraiser and consciousness-raiser” is a dramatic, interactive dinner illustrating the unequal distribution of food throughout the world.
Participants will learn about and discuss causes for and solutions to local and global hunger and homelessness.
Guest speakers include Dr. Daniel Tolan, a local physician and medical missionary, and Dreama Shreve, director of public relations and business development for the Appalachian Regional Coalition on Homelessness (ARCH).
Admission is $3 or five canned food items. Monetary donations will benefit ARCH, while canned goods will go to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
