ETSU men’s basketball head coach Murry Bartow announced Thursday that he has decided to indefinitely suspend junior forward Tommy Hubbard (Boston). The suspension stems from an arrest by Johnson City Police for domestic vandalism early Wednesday morning. ETSU Public Safety assisted local police when Hubbard was arrested at his apartment at Buc Ridge on ETSU’s campus.

He was released Wednesday afternoon.

“After talking with Tommy and gathering more information, I believe taking this step is in the best interests of our team and Tommy,” Bartow said.

“We still believe in Tommy and support him, but there is a process that needs to take place and he needs to focus on that at this time.

“We value good character and integrity in this program. In my seven years here, we have consistently recruited and signed players that meet those standards. Tommy knows this and we are going to do what is right both for our program and our players.”

Hubbard led the Bucs in points and rebounds per game last season.
