LeBron James is hated by many, loved by few and respected by none. Especially after his cowardly move of leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers and signing with the all-star team that was being assembled around Dwyane Wade in Miami.

LeBron has found a way to piss off basketball fans from all walks of life.

On a positive note, James has forfeited any connection with Michael Jordan by opting to play with other big names in the game instead of attempting to win a championship on his own terms.

Well, I suppose he did do it on his terms, just not on terms that will garner any kind of recognition whatsoever.

Everyone knows the history of LeBron. From his high school glory days, playing for the Hummers to his infamous headbands once he got in the league.

The guy is renowned for going into towns night after night, destroying defenses with thunder dunks and windmill high fives with his teammates.

He has had a few noteworthy accomplishments along the way since he has entered the league.

He won a couple of NBA MVP Awards, a Gold Medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics while playing for Team USA, and partnering with Tim Duncan and Shawn Bradley in order to put them on posters all over the world.

LeBron probably should have never gotten that respect that we threw at him when he came into the league before he had even donned a Cavaliers jersey.

He was simply blessed with a matchless physicality that other players in the league simply cannot challenge.

If someone is big enough to guard him, they are not fast enough to keep up with him.

Now, as he will go onto the court of battle with his other all-star members, every contractually agreed player in the league will be gunning for the short sided all-star team hanging out around South Beach.

Players like Kobe Bryant, arguably the best player in the game, and Kevin Durantare are ready to take down the Heat.

LeBron will be going into jammed arenas every night this season, but it will not be for the same reason to which he is accustomed.

This time they are coming to see if he will live up to the video game standard blowouts that he has created for himself and his team.

I hope the aging Celtics find a way to Hoveround themselves into a playoff series with the new and, supposedly, improved “Big Three” and run it like a Chris Brown remix.

Maybe LeBron will actually learn that you have to work for a championship and not just have one given to you.
