Friday, Oct. 87:30 p.m. – Beckett & Pinter “An Evening of Plays,” Bud Frank Theatre in Gilbreath Hall. Directed by Pat Cronin & Katherine Weiss, “An Evening of Plays” is a series of short play productions for thinking outside of the box.

Monday, Oct. 11

8 a.m. – Ticket distribution for the fall concert, featuring Maroon 5 and One Republic and Ry Cumming will begin. The concert will take place Monday, Oct. 25. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets will be available Monday-Friday between 8:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Culp University Center. Students will be allowed to pick up four tickets. Their student ticket is free and each guest ticket is $10.

Tuesday, Oct. 12

“Reunion: Invitational Exhibition of 100 Art Alumni”
kicks off at the Slocumb Galleries. The exhibition, which is open to the public, will be held until Oct. 29.

Wednesday, Oct. 13

7 p.m. – George Shinn, NBA New Orleans Hornets basketball team franchise owner and nationally recognized “rags to riches” business leader, will provide a motivational speech, “You Gotta Believe!” in the Culp Auditorium at on Wednesday, Oct. 13. Mr. Shinn was the youngest person ever awarded the prestigious Horatio Alger Award, he also received an American Success Award from President Bush in a White House ceremony, and he holds six honorary degrees in humanities.
