After suffering a loss the previous day to Lipscomb, ETSU managed to avenge their loss by obtaining a victory over Belmont on Saturday.The first period of the game started off with an early point given to the Buccaneers as a result of an unsuccessful serve from Belmont.

At the beginning stages of this period both ETSU and Belmont remained very consistent in concern to the score board, but as it progressed the Bucs slowly fell behind causing them to lose the first period, 25-20.

When the second period came into play the Bucs demonstrated several charismatic plays that put them ahead of Belmont.

One play in particular was a simultaneous setup to Lauren Baufield (Plymouth, Minn.), which in turn led to a powerful spike earning the Bucs a 19-11 lead.

The outcome of this set was 25-16. Belmont came off to a very dominant start in the third period obtaining a 7-2 lead. Despite this impressive start the Bucs managed to regain possession of the lead and also win the set.

In the fourth period, the two teams exchanged points back and forth remaining evenly matched throughout the majority of the game.

Strong tactics and strategic defense by players such as Megan Clements (Indianapolis Ind.) were used by Belmont to break the even cycle of points and take the set 25-21.

With both teams matched at two sets a piece, the fifth period was the deciding factor of the game. The Bucs immediately took charge of this intense period and won the set 15-9.

For their next games the Bucs will play Jacksonville and North Florida next Friday and Saturday in Jacksonville.
