ETSU’s Major Concert Event is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 25. The concert will feature Maroon 5, One Republic and Ry Cuming.The Grammy-award winning band for “Best New Artist” in 2005, Maroon 5, will be headlining the concert.

Maroon 5 is an American rock band whose members include Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden, Adam Levine, James Valentine and Matt Flynn. The band began to receive recognition in 2001, and since then have had many hit songs including “This Love,” “She Will Be Loved,” “Makes Me Wonder,” and “Harder to Breathe.”

OneRepublic is a self-proclaimed “genreless” band from Colorado Springs. The band formed in 2002 and began gaining attention on the social networking site MySpace. They got their record deal in 2006 and released their first album “Dreaming Out Loud” in 2007. They have had many hit songs, including “All The Right Moves,” “Stop and Stare,” Apologize, and “Out Loud.”

Ry Cuming is an up-and-coming artist who was discovered in Los Angeles, but originates from Australia.

In an interview with Cuming on popeater.com, he describes his debut self-titled album as stories about love lost, love found, travel and experiences.

Tickets for the Oct. 25 SGA Major Concert Event featuring Maroon 5, One Republic and Ry Cuming will be available starting today at the booths on the second floor of the D.P. Culp University Center. Student ID is required for the free ticket to the show.

Ticket booths will be open Monday-Friday until the show between 8:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The concert is free for students, however each student may purchase up to an additional three tickets for non-student guests for $10 each.

Guests must be at least 18 years of age and accompanied by an ID-holding ETSU student at the door of the event. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
