As you walk into Heaven Sent Family Outlet, you will be taken aback by its size and cleanliness. Often at thrift stores you will find nasty things covering the floor in random places, but not here.
Aside from being clean, Heaven Sent also has a wide variety of objects from which to choose.
You can buy dishes galore, for example.
Any kind of dish you want, they’ve got it and for an extremely cheap price. Most of the dishes range from 50 cents to a $1. There is a dish set on sale for only $4 that is missing two dishes, but is otherwise in great condition.
For those coffee lovers out there, or even hot chocolate lovers, they are currently having a really good sale on mugs. Right now, you can buy five mugs for a $1, or you can get just one for 50 cents. Talk about a steal!
Heaven Sent also features tons of books and music, especially vinyl. There is also a deal on cassette tapes: a whole bag of them for just $3. You can also currently buy a bag of books for $3, and if you’re not in the mood for a whole bag, hard backs are a $1 each and paper backs are 50 cents.
They also have about 30 National Geographic books, which in my experience can be hard to come by.
There is also a nice selection of children’s books that range from puzzles to learning books.
One thing that was really great about this store is that all of the clothing is just a $1, no matter what you want. The only exception to this is coats and jackets, which are $4.
Their selection of shoes isn’t half bad either. In the men’s section, they feature mostly vintage loafers, but they do have quite a few pairs of modern sneakers.
In the women’s section it’s also mostly vintage heels. Again, there are also modern shoes. A lot of the sneakers are Keds, so if you’re in the market for some Keds, you know where to go.
The prices of the shoes are $2 for regular shoes and $4 for boots, and that goes for both men and women.
For college students, there are many things you might need from Heaven Sent. They have office supplies for as little as 50 cents and plenty of binders.
They also sell chairs and other furniture. The chairs are between $5 and $10, and they’re in surprisingly good condition. None of them were gross or covered in nasty unmentionables. There are also some nice TVs for just $5 or $10.
There is a good selection of vintage jewelry. You can get earrings, rings and bracelets for just 50 cents and a necklace or a watch for a dollar.
There were some really interesting buttons and pins that you might not see in other places. They have a container at the cash register full of pins for free.
Heaven Sent is fairly easy to find, but it is a little difficult to know exactly where to park. There is a fenced in area that you park in and just walk up a ramp to get inside the store.
Heaven Sent is located on 100 N. Roan St., and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m., and is closed on Sundays.
