Dear Editor,The Republican Congress is out of control as they come after social programs set up to help the record 15 million unemployed American’s who need help, who are out of work, out of money and out of a job.

As the Republicans come after education, and the new health care reform bill, passed to help 50 million uninsured Americans who don’t have health insurance in the richiest country in the world, while they have the best health insurance your tax payers dollars can buy them.

Yet the Republicans want to keep in place $6.3 billion in government tax subsidies in place for the while they come after you, my fellow students, on your Pell Grants that will be cut, while the oil companies rake in record profits.

Does that sound fair to you?

If House Republicans succeed in cutting tens of billions of dollars in discretionary spending over the next six months, you will suffer for it, as well as millions of American’s who depend on the only help they can get, our government, as Republicans do all they can to stop this help.

Here’s what majority leader John Boehner had to say about these vital cuts to education, and social programs, set up to help America’s Middle class, students, and working poor.

That’s right. If the Republican budget cuts cost Americans their jobs, and your education because the cost is already skyhigh, the Republican response is, “So be it.”

It’s time for America to stand up and speak out and tell the Republicans, “Hell no!” Now you see what the president and Democrats are up against and who they are fighting for, you my fellow students, and that’s what makes us different from Republicans.

The president and Democrats’ vision for moving America forward, is to focus on education and jobs. Join us in telling the Republicans, “Hell no” to cuts that will affect you and America.

The Republicans my fellow students, have already lost a record 8.5 million jobs under Bush.

Join me in calling on the president and Democrats to fight for you and America’s working poor who need help, as you need help.

Now is not the time to be cutting vital programs, especially education.

Now is the time to invest in jobs, invest in education and invest in America.

That will create jobs, and help college students who need help now, as well as calling on the president to make the rich pay their fair share.

The budget fight is just beginning, folks, and it’s going to be a big one. Republicans are claiming they’ll shut the government down if they don’t get their way.

They’re willing to cut even more Americans’ jobs just so Republicans can make a political point in an attempt to hold education, social programs and President Barack Obama hostage to foolish budget cuts that will hurt us all.

What Republicans don’t understand, my fellow students, is the president and the Democrats will stand together, tofight for you as you must fight for your country.

We will win this fight with your help, as these foolish Republican cuts, if they go through will hurt you and us.

This is about you as well as about a record 15 million Americans who are still asking the Republicans where the jobs are.

They told us you’d do something about the massive job cuts.

Once again Republicans lied about helping the unemployed, and now, my fellow students, they are coming after you as well.

That’s why you must speak up and speak out, this is about your education and your future as well.
