The ETSU women’s golf team played in the Briar Creek Invitational, where they finished in 15th place out of 17 teams.

This was the Lady Bucs’ seventh tournament of the season and the third tournament that they have played this year.

The University of Florida finished first in the event with Miami and Texas Tech finishing in the top three as well.

Vivienne Chin was the Bucs’ top player in the tournament with scores of 74,78, and 70. The Monday round was suspended leaving the women to play 36 holes on Tuesday.

“We played a good tournament, and even though it poured rain one of the days, we did not let it effect us too much,” said Chin.

Chin tied for 23rd on the individual leaderboard.

The Bucs finished the tournament ahead of Boston College and Maryland. College of Charleston and Penn State finished just eight and nine strokes ahead of them by the time the tournament had ended.

Among other players on ETSU who were in the tournament were Rachel Pollock who shot a 234 in three rounds of play, Linda Bodele who also shot a 234, Dominika Czudkova who shot a 233, and Allyson Dunn who finished with a score of 241.

ETSU had 24 birdies in the tournament with 154 pars. Dunn finished with six birdies in the tournament with Chin getting five birdies.

The women’s golf team will play their next tournament on April 3 in Oxford, Mississippi, hosted by the Ole Miss Rebels. A week after that tournament, they will go to Savannah, Georgia, to play in the conference championship.

ETSU’s season best finish was 7th out of 15 teams. They have also finished 10th out of 20 this season.
