Great news, foodies!

Bite Squad, an on-demand food delivery service, has arrived in our area and will be having a grand opening this weekend.

This weekend during the grand opening, Bite Squad is offering free delivery services for customers on Sept. 7-9 for a year.

Customers eligible for the “Free Delivery for a Year” promotion will receive a one-year complimentary membership to Bite Squad’s subscription-based service, Unlimited (subject to its terms and conditions). Unlimited customers normally pay a low monthly fee that covers the cost of delivery, no matter how many times they order. To receive the complimentary membership, customers in the new delivery area have to place an order through the service between 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 7 and 10 p.m. on Sept. 9.

Bite Squad was founded in 2012 in Minneapolis, and has since grown to over 300 cities throughout the country.

The service is not only available through their website, but also has an app; this is perfect for college students fighting hunger pains while studying.

“An amazing feature with the app is when you are indecisive about what you are craving,” said Liz Sneigocki of the business, “it will help you with handy filtering tools.”

Bite Squad will offer delivery from more than 20 area restaurants at launch, including local favorites such as Asian Cafe 1, Giovanni’s, Jack’s City Grill, Mad Greek, Sahib Fine Indian Cuisine, The Roots Vietnamese Restaurant & Coffee, Ole’s Guacamoles, Luke’s Pizza and Our House Restaurant, as well as popular chains like Bob Evans, Beef O’Brady’s and Hooters. Delivery is available within a seven mile radius of participating restaurant partners.

“This arrival is great not only for customers, but also for area restaurants,” said Sneigocki. “It’s a win-win situation for restaurants and patrons both.”

Fellow restaurant owners in the area are excited for the new business.

“We’ve had a great response leading up to our arrival in Johnson City. ,” Craig Key, Chief Marketing Officer for Bite Squad, said in a press release. “The restaurants are excited and residents are pumped because who doesn’t like to chill out with their favorite foods delivered to their door? I think a whole lot of people will be getting their year of free deliveries this weekend.”

The delivery’s app has a 4.2 out of 5 star rating on the Apple store.

Delivery fees start at $2.99.
