Brittney Ezell is parting ways with ETSU’s women’s basketball team as head coach, ETSU Athletic Director Scott Carter confirmed Monday morning.
“Coach and I both agreed that moving forward, it will be best for another head coach to lead the program,” Carter said in a statement from ETSU’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. “I thank Coach for her dedicated service to ETSU Athletics, and our women’s basketball program.”
Carter continued on to describe Ezell as an excellent ambassador for ETSU and the sport of women’s basketball.
Ezell began her tenure as women’s basketball head coach in 2013. The women’s 2020-2021 campaign finished 4-16 after completing a stunning upset against top-ranked Samford in the 2021 Southern Conference Tournament quarterfinals.
According to the release, the search for ETSU’s next women’s head coach is set to “begin immediately.”
