Scheduled for Oct. 21 at 7 p.m., students and faculty at ETSU will have the opportunity to hear from special guest, Jay Harris.
An Emmy award winning reporter for ESPN SportsCenter, Jay Harris will be speaking on his own experiences in college and how being a college student and the decisions made in college can influence both a student’s career and overall future. He will also be giving a presentation on leadership, specifically on how being a leader is something that can influence responsibility and how leadership impacts others.
Following this presentation, attendees will be able to take part in a Q&A with Harris. This event was made possible through the funding of the Student Government Association and Buctainment and is also being hosted by the Interfraternity Council on campus.
Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life, Maggie Darden, will be answering any questions sent to her via email or phone call regarding this event.
“A group of students traveled to a conference in February of 2020 and heard him speak,” said Darden. “They loved his presentation and wanted to bring him to ETSU to share his message.”
Now all ETSU students, staff and faculty can do so, and the overall goal of the event is to reach out to even more people so that they also can spread his message.
Maggie Darden and many others involved in the event encourage students to take advantage of this opportunity and hear from Harris. Those who attend will not only learn about leadership but also learn valuable lessons as they transition from college life into the world to take on their careers and their futures as graduates.
Jay Harris will be give the presentation in the D.P Culp Student Center Ballroom.
