WACO, Texas (April 3, 2022) – The ETSU Bucs were on the road for a series at Baylor over the weekend looking to build on their five game winning streak but it was the Baylor Bears that would come out on top 3-0 in the series.
Friday saw a blowout for the Bucs, losing the game 15-1. The Bucs lone run came in the first inning and would struggle from the plate for the remainder of the day, only earning eight hits on the day.
Saturday saw a much more competitive game for the Bucs although they would drop the game 8-7. The Bucs remained competitive throughout the game and tied the game 7-7 in the top of the eighth, but it was Baylor that secured their second victory in as many days with a run in the bottom of the eighth and held the Bucs scoreless in the ninth.
Sunday would continue the trend for Baylor as the Bucs dropped to 0-3 in the series on a 7-4 loss. Baylor took an early 6-1 lead and never looked back. Although the Bucs were able to out hit the Bears 11-9 on Sunday, it was Baylor that would find success once on base.
The Bucs drop to 17-8 on the season and return home to take on the Appalachian State Mountaineers on Tuesday, April 5 at 6 p.m.
