The Culp has a new room that serves a great purpose for anyone in need of important necessities.

The Women’s Resource Center has a new home. The center was originally in the Campus Center Building and now has moved to the D.P. Culp Student Center in hopes of reaching more students.

“We were located in the Campus Center Building,” said Alison Dyer, a graduate assistant for the Women’s Resource Center. “It definitely was not as student-focused as we would have liked it to be, but I feel like opening in the Culp will draw more attention from students.”

Dyer explained that there was not much student traffic in the Campus Center Building, and she felt that the center needed somewhere where students were at more frequently.

“We wanted to move to the Culp to create a more accessible space. Rarely do people know where the Campus Center Building actually is,” Dyer said. “Social media was only working so well for us.”

Although the Women’s Resource Center is open in the Culp, they are saving the grand opening for the fall semester. Before the grand opening, the center will have a new name.

“We are looking to change our name to the ‘Women and Gender Resource Center’ to have a more inclusive approach for students,” Dyer said.

Dyer is excited to see students and have a more accessible space for everyone.

“We have officially moved in,” Dyer said. “We are at a pretty good location right across from the Pride Center.”

The center provides menstrual products, contraceptives and many other resources for all students.
