Downtown Johnson City is bringing back music to Founders Park with an all new fall series called Acoustic Autumn. This event will take place each Thursday evening in October, making it a four week fall concert series.
This event prides itself in being an all local event, meaning there will be local singers, songwriters, vendors and distilleries.
The line-up for this event includes Seth Thomas & Friends, Zach McNabb, Ed Snodderly and Madi Foster.
On their social media, downtown Johnson City writes, “Acoustic Autumn can’t get here soon enough! We are so ready to bring live music back to Founders Park this fall!”
Ever since the closure of The Willow Tree Coffeehouse in downtown Johnson City, the lack of a venue dedicated to acoustic and live music became more prevalent. While many Johnson City businesses stepped up and opened their doors to local talent, this event allows people to come together in an outdoor environment without too much worry of COVID-19 thanks to the open and fresh air.
When speaking to ETSU students about the event, they shared their excitement to attend this series.
Cameron Robison, a senior music student here on campus, shared his thoughts on the event. “I attend more events now than I have in the past two years, albeit while I am also still being cautious. I love local music, and I love local beer, so you can absolutely bet I will be at Founders Park for Acoustic Autumn.”
Sam Ramsey, a senior psychology student, shared their thoughts on the event as well.
“I go to Founders Park quite often, and the idea that there will be live music, along with a community of people who want to be there as much as I do seems like a great event to me.”
This event will begin in October of 2022. Please check out downtown Johnson City on Facebook or at www.downtownjc.com/autumn for more information and updates on this event as it unfolds.
