SGA is bringing back the Collaboration Initiative for student organizations to have their voices heard. By engaging in conversation, SGA wants to take note of concerns and work to find a solution.

The meeting will place on Oct. 3 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in room 311 of the D.P. Culp Center.

“Our intention is for SGA to bridge the gap,” said Trent White, SGA secretary of public relations and communications. “We want to hear from not just the student organizations, but from faculty and staff as well.”

The Collaboration Initiative will begin with an introduction to each student organization, allowing them to have the floor. It will then move into an introduction from SGA.

Following the introductions, all attendees will move into SGA-led small groups to converse about issues and concerns they may have. SGA plans to compile their feedback, provide an overview and give updates on their progress at future meetings.

“Talk and act” is a phrase that White used to describe the initiative.

“We want student organizations to be heard and we want to bring change for them,” he added.

All students are welcome to attend with no RSVP necessary. SGA plans to host another meeting this semester, with a date to be determined.
